I started quilting casually just about 15 years ago.l got into it more seriously after a stroke in my rehab phase. I am on my 13th and 14th quilts(just starting on them!) They are for our youngest granddaughters ages 3 and 1. I made them baby quilts but now working towards twin sized. Then we have 2 step grandchildren to make quilts for! I love making them, but I am oh, so slow! I realize that it is alot related to my disease but still it can be quite frustrating. I love how they go together as mish mashes of fabric and come out so beautifully;even when the patterns are simple! Ialways loved art and wasn't ever very good at it. This is my creative outlet.

I am in Iowa, too--up in the northwest corner. Do you have a pattern that particularly sings to you? I have made so many log cabins, in various arrangements, now I am using the rest of the scraps(yeah, right) in string quilts.
They are really fun to do. Boone is a very pretty town, we pass it going to visit family. hugs, Gail

I don't belong to any quilting clubs-I guess I'm a little insecure in my abilities. I just got out of Mary Greeley hospital this morning. Been in there over a week for chronic problems related to my health. Hope to be up and about soon. Most of the snow has melted while I was in the hospital. Glad to see so many from Iowa and my surprise to see someone from Boone. Thanks for the welcomes. BTW I live near Goeppinger Field, where are you located?
