Hi all, have enjoyed browsing for a year or so, tonight I felt
compelled to join in. I was gobsmacked by Justok re shelf
liners. I found this tickled me no end, as a rug retailer, we sell
Rug Grip to hold rugs to smooth surface floors. With this sitting
right under my nose, I never thought to put it to good use in my
sewing room. guess who's machine foot walks a mile.
So sick of stretching my leg. how low down in the chair do you
have to get. lol. Will be trying it soon as. I have been a quilter
for about 10 yrs, but sewed forever. ( not the greatest, just
enjoy sewing ) have just completed 2 quilts for 17mth twin nephews,
were visiting from UK and was able to send them back with a
slice of N.Z. hope you enjoy one of our kiwi icons.
Am now embarking on a lovely applique quilt, designed by
a local quilter. so in love with applique. bought pattern about a year ago. been trying to pluck up courage to start. photo is of
one of 3 different blocks of applique. plus 9 pieced blocks. will be a wall hanging for our bedroom all going well. will keep you
posted with progress. I live in a small town, 1hr30 from our
capital city Wellington. We enjoy a rural lifestyle 6 mins drive
from town. I work with my husband in our business. which sells
imported rugs, we also run a factory overlocking carpet offcuts
and making carpet squares. Hubby does 90% of the overlocking. Don't think he will take up quilting though. Is an
avid golfer. which means I can be an avid quilter. lol. we have
2 sons. one recently moved back home. 26 yrs. I know I know.
He did actually spend 6 months in America last year. was
crop harvesting in Artesia, New Mexico. enjoyed the experience
but opted to stay here this season. Hope I haven't bored you all. Just so excited about chatting at last. look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome! Your quilts are beautiful!

My DD and SIL are living in Auckland as she is doing her graduate work at the Uni there. We visited last October and will be returning this October. Hope to visit the South Island this time. Did find a quilt shop in Devonport, and a Bernina dealer in the suburbs of Auckland with some fabric. Beautiful place NZ.
