New Member/Old Quilter
Hello everyone! I recently stumbled upon this forum while searching for something and thought it would be fun to join (especially trying to find alternatives to social media websites). I have been quilting for around 30 years and worked in several shops as well as taught classes for a long time. I have been away from quilting and sewing for the last 10 years or so, but am returning to my sewing machine as I am now mostly retired. I enjoy appliqué and piecing more complex blocks and love planning quilts in EQ6 software. After being away from the industry for around 12 years I am not too familiar with new products, but have a good stash of old ones. I look forward to meeting some new quilting friends and hope to contribute to the group.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. You can find all the new gadgets and ideas on YouTube nowadays. The newest thing that interests me is the ruler foot for my Bernina and rulers that I can use to quilt with on my sewing machine.

Hello & welcome.
This is a great place to ask questions and share knowledge with other quilters. Enjoy your retirement time for new sewing projects. I don't think our tools or stash have an expiration date so you will be good to go! Happy Stitches! |

First of all welcome to the QB from SE Michigan! I am so glad you decided to join us here. Like you, I don't use newer machines as my newest machine is from the early 2000, but I didn't buy that one new. The last new machine I have here is from the mid 1980's I love working with vintage machines and I have a number of these that I use trading them off and on for use. Jump right back into your quilting it will be so much fun. So many new patterns and goodies to explore. Again welcome to the QB.
