New Member, Old Quilter (well, maybe not TOO old!)

Hi, My name is Cindy from NE Indiana. I've been quilting for 28 years.

I work part time at a quilt shop 3 miles from my house...my dream job! One of the best things about the job is helping customers choose fabric for their next quilt.

My favorite techniques are needle-turn applique and hand quilting. I've learned to free-motion machine quilt recently, and am still improving my skills on my old Bernina 830.

I own 4 vintage machines; a Singer 401A, a Singer Featherweight Centennial edition (1951), a Singer treadle fiddlehead, and the Bernina mentioned above. The treadle needs some work, but I use the other three often. I keep the Bernina set up for free-motion, use the 401A for most sewing projects, and take the featherweight to classes and retreats.

Welcome from snowy Michigan! I would love to work in a quilt shop but I'd never take a paycheck home.

Hello from northwest Iowa, we love to visit Indiana, and the quilt shops I have shopped there were great. I agree, I would spend every paycheck at the store, if I worked at one. Let us know how you are, okay. and which projects take your time.
