A New Member with questions
Hi, I am here for the first time today. I was wondering...is there a daily email that is sent of new topics?
Also, I have noticed that some people are senior members, some junior...and since I am new, I am a member. How does this work? I am trying to explore the internet and my local stores for interesting fabric. I had a recent bad experience with overpriced fabric at a local shop...what is the best place for fabric, panels, and supplies? Looking forward to learning more about quilting!!! |
Welcome from VT - I think there is a daily email, I have never gotten it but others will know.
the membership status just depends on how many posts you have. Not sure if there is any one "Best" place to buy fabric - the thrill is in the hunt!! Again, others will have recommendations. |

That said, it is really easier just to sign on and click on Recent Topics |
Welcome to the board. I get a daily email from the board.
As for status- it depends on how active you are but I don't pay much attention to that. As for quilting supplies- I have some of my personal favorites: Missouri Star Quilt Company- wonderful fabrics, and Jenny has a tutorial every Friday. They are so much fun and I've made many of her quilts. Love fabric.com as well. Craftsy is another good site. I don't buy much locally anymore. I love buying online. I like certain lines of fabric, such as Moda, Michael Miller, Jinny Beyer and others. Once you know what you like it's easy (and dangerous lol) to find what you want. I get supplies from a number of sources- even Amazon. |
Thanks for all the replies. I am working on getting daily emails...tried yesterday to "subscribe" to topics, but no emails yet.
But, I will continue to try and to learn..this is a great forum..already have learned so much. |

Hi and Welcome!
You will soon learn - if you have not already - that we are an opinionated bunch! and that there is (usually) more than one way to do almost anything. Which I think could be confusing to a newbie - but that is also part of the adventure. |
You are new and I'm like new after being away for long.
when asking for fabric connections do know some members are from all over USA Canada etc.. |

Also, you might want to note top of screen it says chit chat that is 24hr
and just join in the conversation. |
Something that I discovered recently is the "What's New" button. This is the current traffic. I always wondered why my email list....I think it is called Daily Digest.....was one day old.
This is a really great place for those of us caught in isolation. I feel so connected to the rest of the quilting world through this board. Marcia |
Welcome! I always use the "Recent Topics" button. It brings up the newest topics and all the ones you haven't viewed yet, in order. It is to the right of your screen, below where the Search box is.
