My name is Kathy and I currently live in the Oklahoma Panhandle. I'm not real fond of it so I tend to refer to it as the Armpit of H... :P
Anyway, I'm married to my second husband and I have two sons from the first time around. They're both grownups and have kids of their own. I have 3 granddaughters, 17, 13, and 8 and one grandson 5. I do several types of quilting. Tons of piecing of course, some paper piecing and a little applique. I have an iron, I can applique!! :D I always have several projects in the works. Right now I think there are at least 8 quilts in the works and who knows how many waiting their turn. I'm looking forward to getting to know people on this forum! |

Hi Scissor Queen. Welcom to the quilting board. It is a great place to be. I live in on Lake Texoma in S Oklahoma. |
I think that's the nice part of Oklahoma. It's cleeeeeeeeeear across the state from me. I'm in the part that's always on the edge of being a dust bowl again.
|
I retired from the State and when I first started working for them one of the Supervisors would tell us that if you did something wrong that they would transfer you to Guymon as your punishment.......Actually I have never been in the panhandle that I can remeber. I really have learned alot from this board. I started quilting when I retired and haven't stopped yet. There are several here from Ok.
|
LOL, I can see where Guymon could be considered punishment!! There really isn't much of anything here.

Hey There.
Welcome to the group! I just recently remarried also. I moved from Amarillo to Borger, and had been by myself for many years before remarrying and It has been an A D J U S T M E N T!!! I have three grown children and six grandchildren from the ages of 19 years to 16 months old. My husband and his first wife had adopted a son who is now 16 and my son in law threw my 17 year old granddaughter out of their home when she turned 17 because she wasn't his, a month before my husband and I married. So on top of taking on a husband I have become the "Fill in Mother" for two children from exact opposite worlds (Cinderalla and Prince of the Universe". So another A D J U S T M E N T . I have not found Borger to be a friendly place at all, and have lurked for several years here opn the quilting forum, but if I'm going to find anyone to share quilting and learn this are, looks like it will be this forum, which I have always found to be very helpful and encouraging!
