Hi everyone, I just joined and wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Kris and I live in Lincoln, Nebraska where today is to be the warm day of the week with a heatwave of mid 30's.

I've been quilting for 4 years, can't get enough of it. I work full time as a office manager for a home builder, have a husband, a son and daughter who are both married and 1- 1/2 granddaughters, the other have is due in June. Oh yeah, also have 3 dogs left behind when both kids got married (okay, okay maybe I wouldn't let them take them) Anyway, really interested in learning more of the world of quilting from all those experienced quilters. Also, interested in the BOM.

I'm also looking for idea's for the new sepia wizard of oz fabric. Anyone have any idea's?

Hi Donna, great to meet you! I'm thinking I might do something like a whirlwind type block with the wizard of oz fabric.

Hi Kris. Welcome on board. Anxious to see what you do with the Oz fabric. I just made a whirlwind block for my quilt shop's BOM. I think that would be a great choice.

Hi Kris, nice to meet you!

Hi Kris, welcome! Wizard of Oz lends itself to all sorts of colorful fantasy landscapes with yellow brick roads, emerald city, witch's tower, etc. Or appliqued ruby slippers, twisters, munchkins, hot air balloons, tin man, scarecrow, and the cowardly lion.....

I guess I will have to look at that when it comes around here. :-)

Hi Kris
Welcome from north west Missouri.
I too am about to start on a Wizzard of OZ quilt. (Hancocks had it in their new catalogue and so does Keepsake quilting. I'm using the Yellow Brick road pattern for my grandaughters 5th birthday.

Be sure to let us know how yours turns out.

Pam

Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome.

I wish I had my wizard of oz fabric already, you have all given me the incentive to get going on it. I need to make 2 lap sized quilts as my daughter is a huge fan as well.

By the way, for those of you wondering what a quilt made from the fabrics may look like, check out quilted kitty.com. Kate has a kit you can buy and I really love the look of it. It's the only one I've seen.

Kriss you can order that exact same thing from hancocks or you can order the material.
I love the early looking prints, but I'm using the colored ones on Gilli's quilt. She does love the Dorothy slippers
