Hello Everyone,
I just joined and am looking forward to this quilting group. I live in Idaho. Started learning how to make quilts off and on 10 years ago. All that I have learned about quilts are from books (library) or magazines. My grandmother use to do all the family quilting and my mother and me use to help cut out pieces for her to quilt. Back then we didn't worry about straight of the grain or on the bias and old timey quilts showed this. My first quilt was a appliqued butterfly quilt which took me 1 1/2yrs to complete as I did this in my spare time. Besides the Butterfly quilt, I have made Friendship Star, Pinwheel, Bear Claw and several Scrappy(love these) quilts. This winter I have made 6 doll quilts of different sizes. I would love to do the Oak Leaves quilt if someone can tell where to get the pattern. Still learning, Sally |

Hello Quilters,
Just wanted to thank each of you whom responded to welcome me. I loved the quilts you have made, so beautiful. I am not very computer savy. Have a lot of questions to ask. Tell me how to get those free patterns? Instructions please, step by step. One thing I want to comment about scrapy quilts. Notice what happens when you change the front border of a scrapy quilt, it seems to pick up and pop out the that color print used. Since I had all that left over material from sewing cloths and quilts, was able to make three scrapy quilts each with different borders. I had three different looking scrapy quilts. Sally Sadiemae, where do you live in Idaho? |
