I am soon to be 82 yrs young--just a couple more months. I have a Voyager 17 and Hinterberg frame, quilt for American Hero Quilts who take 100 quilts a month to Madigan Military Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. I have finished quilting 5 already this year and hope to do 100 for our wounded who come to Madigan. I receive tops and backs, and batting if I need it from Sue @ Vashon, WA. I quilt and machine bind the quilts and send them back to her. I hope to be able to drive our motor home up there in the spring so I can meet this dear lady. I have quilted since my first piece done by hand when I was 12 yrs old. My, THAT is 70 years ago!!!!! Phyllis, the old quilter in Oregon. |

Thank You! to all who gave me a welcome!
I have 6 quilts waiting to be quilted and bound so better get busy. Also one top that I am making as well for American Hero Quilts!--this is when my legs get tired of standing at the frame. Any one want to make a top and send to me I will quilt it and send it on to Sue. Just 60" wide x 70" long or bigger--and red white and blue for colors. Phyllis 81 yrs in Oregon |

Hi Phyllis 81 yrs....welcome from Southern Indiana from a 'soon to be' 83 years! Standing at the frame can be a problem, that's why I bought a 'sit down' quilter. I make lap quilts for the VA...but have been wanting to make a 'hero' quilt or two. Don't know if I'll get around to it or not...have lots in the wings waiting...but on behalf of our servicemen, Thank You!!
