Welcome from Oregon! Isn't it exciting what is happening today in Chile. I am so happy for those families!

I'm also from Letcher County, Kentucky, a little place called Blackey, we spend our summers there and winter in Gulfport, Mississippi. Lived in Lexington 27 years before I retired from IRS. Glad to see some more Kentuckians.

Welcome from "on the road", which happens to Michigan at the moment. Ready to go back to Georgia. Would love to know what "chicken scratch" is, but sounds like a lot of work, and I am in for the quick, easy, lazy way. You are blessed to be in quilting country. Not much here. Glad to travel and visit different quilt shops all over the country.

Who are his people? I might know them.

His name is Donald Cornett, he lived on Dfeated Creek off of Linefork. He left there in 1956 when he was 15.We go toCumberland every year for a Cornett Reunion at Kingdom Come State Park. It is 2 different sets of Cornetts that aren't related. His aunt Ava now deceased, was a Cornett and married into another family of Cornetts.

My husband's people are Whitaker and Fields, he was raised on Long Branch, which is on Line Fork, on the other end.
