New from the Mountains.
 

Hi! I'm Kalene. I recently bought a quilting book that encouraged me to sign up here! I am excited to share with others my love for quilting..that is beyond my husband that doesn't know anything about it and usually politely says how nice my creations are. :)

I started sewing as a little girl with my mom. Since then I've only enjoyed it more and more.

I'm excited to learn from others here and see what everyone else has made. I've heard getting involved in quilting bees and groups are fun so maybe I could get a chance to do that too!

I, too, have been sewing from a young age. I once made all my clothes and those for my mom and sister. When I married and had sons, I was too busy with rearing children, teaching school, church involvement, etc. and except for the youngest ages, I had no desire to make clothes for boys. After I retired, I picked up quilting, which both my grandmothers did. And - welcome from the beautiful mountains of western NC.
