Hello everyone. I am new here. I came across this site while searching for information on the quilt show coming up this weekend in Sacketts. I am a new quilter and a full time student and mom to two. Needless to say, I quilt when I can but look forward to graduating after this semester so I can spend more time quilting and some more quality time with my kids. My wonderful mother and my grandmother are quilting teachers. For now we have a quilt day each week. I have been cross stitching since I was 15 and hope to incorporate that into some of my quilts in the future. I have so many projects planned I can't wait to tackle some of them. Check out my first quilt top in the pictures section. Can't wait to learn from all of you.

Hi from Ohio. I used to live on Long Island and vacation upstate. We would go to Schroon Lake when the kids were young and visited the North Pole and Frontier Town.

I know where the North Pole is but I don't think I've heard of the other two. We're thinking of taking our girls to the North Pole soon, before they stop believing. ;-)

Schroon Lake is south of the North Pole. It is just a beautiful lake and you can rent cabins and such. Frontier Town is in North Hudson NY and is about 1 mile north of Schroon Lake. Frontier Town is open seasonally and was fun for both my kids. We went on a stage coach ride and they had robbers stop it, my DD had just had her eras pierced before we left for vacation, at the age of 5 she throught they were going to steal her earrings and her holes would close. She cried. Schroon Lake is about an hour north of Fort William Henry and Lake George.

Where in upstate NY are you????????

I'm in the Pulaski area. It's about 35 minutes south of Watertown and 35 minutes north of Syracuse. A few years ago we made national news when, in February, we had already amassed 12' of snow with more to come, . Not really something good to make news from but we certainly have white Christmas'!
