Hi, I'm Terrie and I have been machine piecing tops for about 6 years. I would really love to learn to finish the quilts myself instead of sending them out, it's getting expensive!! I have found a Juki machine and a Gracie frame that seems pretty reasonably priced, but I don't want to get them if they're just going to frustrate me. I'm really on the fence, what should I do?

There might be a learning curve and a few frustrations but I would take the plunge. And welcome from Alaska.

That's what I'm leaning toward...now if I can just talk my hubby into it. Thanks for the welcome, would love to visit Alaska someday.

Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!

I tend to do my own quilts because I cannot afford to send them all out. I just have a regular size Bernina.
I dream of owning a Long Arm, someday. I keep telling DH. Maybe someday he will let me purchase one!!

Hi from Oklahoma :)
I've had a Juki 98E for over 10 years and I love it. Never been in repair shop. DH keeps it clean and oiled - a must.
Terry

How does this sound for justification to purchase the Juki? I think I've done about 18 quilts so far and sent each one out at about 75 bucks each..so I'm thinking I'm going to save a ton of money by not having to send them out anymore. Think he'll buy it?
