Hello from cold, cold Oklahoma City. I'm new to this message board but have been getting the newsletter for several years now. I'm retired and enjoy taking care of my house and dh but most of all I enjoy sewing, quilting and crocheting.

Welcome fellow Okie. I'm actually a residence of sunny Cal but was born in Oklahoma (Claremore), and since that's where the folks are, I call it home.

My first step towards quilting was last summer tacking quilts at a Baptist church in Oklahoma, with my mom, aunt, and a bunch of neat ladies who were only happy to show me the ropes and put me to work. I plan on doing it again this year and hopefully take a top or two to donate to their cause.

You're talking about the cold, cold Oklahoma though, and I'm talking about handing out quilts in the middle of sweltering July. Honest folks, despite the weather, ticks, skeeters and chiggers, I love it. Oklahoma hey, it really is OK!

I live in Midwest City, OK. I've just been elected as the next president of our Mid-Del Stitchin' Sisters Quilt Guild so I'm probably not gonna get much quilting done over the next couple of years. :cry:
