New Old Man Quilting

Hello everyone and well after 40 years of watching my wife quilt I myself decided to try it, and to my surprise it's a lot of work but very relaxing, I myself was a Pro Fishing and Outdoor Guide that got hurt 4 years ago and spend a lot of time in a wheelchair and I can only stand for 5 min due to pain so I have a lot of time at home no more hunting and fishing I was told so here go's nothing.
First of all my wife said use my machine and I said ther is no way I will touch your machine well we have four so I used a older Brother she don't use anymore and started a 4 patch out of her scraps.
It has been a week and with wife helping me we just put the backing on and I will post pics later and at least I have tried so take care everyone and God Bless.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. When you are ready to try applique, there is a really cute pattern by Sindy Rodenmayer that you may want to try. It is called Caught Ya and it is being offered by fatcatpatterns.com as a block of the month or you can buy it for $15.00 It is all fishing lures.

Wish I could get hubby to try quilting. He needs a hobby to keep him busy instead of tv. Keeps the mind a little bit fresher. (Maybe, lol).

Captgreg 08-14-2017 10:15 AM

Hi everyone thanks for all the nice comments well I'm almost done have to sew binding on and will be done,
also just tuned a Bernina Record up and wow what a machine for being so old but yet so smooth funny like me lol.
sewed most everything on a Juki but it is so fast at 5500 stitchs a min but we put a smaller pulley on to help slow it down. The wife is bringing home a newer Singer today from the sewing club I can't wait, have a great time everyone and may God Bless.
