Hi everyone! I am really excited to find this place! I was new on another forum but had trouble finding my way around for some reason. But this one is the same style as another forum I am on where I am an Admin and Mod...so I think I can get around well here! :D

I am fairly new with quilting, 2 years. I have made 4 quilts, a couple of table runners, a bag and a couple other small things.

I recently bought a Janome DC 3050 and love it! I am building up a stash of fabric and also check out second hand stores to find scraps of fabric. I love fabric (don't we all?)

Your chat is great, I went there earlier and had some immediate questions answered, sure liked that!!! So, you will see me around quite a bit.

My kids are grown and married, we have 9 grandchildren.

Hi, well we are about 2 hours west of Portland, on the coast....RIGHT on the coast!

beachy 06-15-2009 03:46 PM

Yes, we met on chat...it was one of the first things I found and was so happy for instant answers too!

The walking foot worked fine for the heirloom stitches, and I did one all the way around my table runner. It was SWEET!!! I am having so much fun discovering new things to do!

I have the binding on the runner and decided to hand sew it to the back, thanks to a tutorial I found here showing a great way to sew them.

Are you near McMinville? (sp?) largest quilt shop I have visited, 3 floors and 20,000 bolts. Great people there too. The whole area is beautiful!

Well, it seems that I succeeded. Didn't know that the avatar was retroactive. Thought it would have begun with where I inserted it. I have so much to learn about this world of technology. Thanks all for your help. That cutie is our great granddaughter. This was Christmas Eve two years ago and she was opening one of her packages.

So where is this quilt shop you're talking about Judith? I didn't know there was a big quilt shop in McMinnville. Let me know what the name of the shop is & where exactly & I'll have to go check it out. :D

Adelaide Girl 06-22-2009 10:16 PM

Hello and welcome from Adelaide, South Australia.

judithb 06-24-2009 06:52 PM

Sorry to take so long to answer this. the Quilters Travel companion book was buried in my overflowing quilting/computer room. The great shop in McMinnville OR is Boersma's, 203 E. 3rd., zip 97128. We also visited Sharon's Atic in Hillsboro. Very nice people there too. I found the hard way to call first. I have been in 3 shops in Harlingen, TX and when I went a couple years later 2 had closed.
