Hi all, I have been quilting for about ten years and love it. I belong to a weekly quilting bee group with about 18 other ladies. It is our "group therapy" time. I am a hand quilter and mostly interested in antique and reproduction antique quilts. Does anyone else share my interest for older quilts?

Hi and welcome to the board. There was a thread going on the board last week showing some antique quilts you might be interested in. I'm not sure how to attached the link but if I can figure it out I'll do it.

Welcome from Western PA. There have been a lot of new people from PA lately. Please share your knowledge about antique quilts and ask any questions about any subject here. This is a great board and you'll learn a lot and make many new friends.

Welcome to the Board. My only child just moved from GA to Pittsburgh. She is enjoying all of the snow right now.

I love antique quilts and new ones using reproduction fabrics and patterns that are fairly traditional. Also, patterns from Karen Witt. She does some amazing patterns.

Enough of my rambling. Welcome and enjoy yourself. Stay warm and safe!

I live in Reading, and realize how lucky I am that I downsized to a condo where they do all the outside work! I finished a few quilts but haven't had time to take pictures. I will post when I get to it.
Where is Confluence?

janet conn 02-16-2010 10:23 AM

Confluence is 25 miles south of Somerset on route 281-90 miles south of Pittsburgh. 17 miles from Grantsville,Md.

Teresa 54 02-16-2010 10:35 AM

I pulled your town up on the map because I never heard of it before. Is there much quilting out your way?

janet conn 02-16-2010 02:46 PM

Very much so. We are close Amish country. Also we have all kind of Festivals. Quilting is very much of the thing. My friend takes her quilts. They are judged and she has won many ribbons plus one quilt sold for $1,000.
