Hi all - Since I just entered my first post I thought is was time I quit "thinking about" posting on here and "do it". I'm a snow bird - leaving next Sunday  .
I just started quilting about 2 months ago and I'm hoping it will be something to keep me occupied while I'm up North with not nearly as much to do. Since I started I've been lurking on this website and enjoying all the email alerts to what's new and the newest topics. I so much enjoy reading, watching your tutorials and learning from all of you. Isn't technology great  Thanks again for all your help! Are there any other W PA quilters around here. After the help I've had down her in FL I need to find some quilting buddies at home. HI Pat, Welcome to the board. I am from NW PA, a bit far from pittsburgh tho. Lots of PA quilters here, maybe some are closer, if not the tutorials on here are great helpers as are all the members.

I just found an INCREDIBLE shop in Greensburg -- I will be searching out the Pittsburgh shops throughout the summer...

Welcome to the board from Southern California!!

Hi Jetnica - where are you in relation to Greensburg/Pittsburgh. I was born and raised in Pgh but for the past two years I've lived in Burgettstown (know where that is?).
I'm hoping to find some quilting shops, classes, guilds close by when I get home. I know there is a guild that meets on Tues mornings in Washington - might check that out. You'll have to let me know where you find the shops in Pgh. |
Welcome!

Howdy and welcome from Pipe Creek Texas!!!

You'll have to let me know where you find the shops in Pgh. The bf is playing *in* pittsburgh now, says if i find a shop downtown I could walk to it... but I like the greensburg shop! I will keep you updated -- let me know about the guild in washington - I may join with you!! edited to add: I know burgettstown! (used to be starlake, then postgazette, now it's something new) -- went to a few dave matthews band concerts there -- it's also on the "anti-79" way home... |

|
Hello, I live just outside of Greensburg, what shop did you find. love to go and see....
|
Hi Finch - bummer - like you, I sure wish I could find a close quilter friend. Where is Keyser? If I weren't so stuck on this message board I could go to Google Maps - LOL!
|
Keyser is about 25 miles from Cumberland Md. Actually that it where I was born. I just moved to Florida a year ago. I have been to Leesburg. It is pretty there.

Hi PghPat, I am also a snowbird from Pittsburgh (and Edgewater FL). Found a great LQS in Rockledge (near Titusville).. can't wait to go back. It is huge, like a warehouse size. They have every conceivable make, color etc. of fabric organized by type or designer; hundreds of patterns and tools. In the back of the shop there are three programmed Gammills automatically quilting. What more could I want??

Hi Pgh Pat, I'm from Hampton Twp... lived most of my life in the Wexford area. I have a general idea where Burgettstown is... on the opposite side of the Pgh area from me. I am in Pgh now and plan to go back to Florida for a while in June and then again after Christmas for a few months.
