I have a question I'm hoping I can get a answer. I have a new sewing machine. My thread keeps breaking. All my settings are set right according to the book. I am getting frustrated cause I don't know what the problem is. P.S. Thank You all for warm welcome :D

Hi there and welcome from not so sunny Spain....very cloudy today.

What thread are you using. Are you using the same thread on the top as you are in the spool. Is your needle a new needle if not that could be the problem a blunt needle with cut the thread.

Thats for starters, have a go and see if anyof these work if not come back and see if we can sort you out.

Welcome from Illinois!

Did you buy it from a dealer? If so, take it back and see if you're doing something wrong. Doesn't sound like it though. Shouldn't need another needle, sounds like you have even used it. If you bought it from some place where like K-Mart, Wal Mart, etc., take it back and get a different one. This is my 2 cents worth.

That is Ben Browder. He is the star of my favorite Science Fiction show called Farscape. He is from North Carolina. The show was filmed in Australia. He is gorgeous isn't he? He is also a very nice man.

I did a portrait quilt of him this year and will be taking it to the Convention with me in a few weeks to get him to sign it. I have been offered quite a bit of money for it but I made it for me.

I was commissioned by the lady who runs the Ben Browder Portal to make a "wormhole" quilt. She will be giving it to him for his birthday in December.

Quilting and Farscape--- my two favorite hobbies.

Hi Sandra,
I hope all is going well with you and your machine.....About a week ago my thread on my machine kept breaking everytime I tried to sew, and after trying to decide what was going on, I got the book out and realized I had the spool of thread on backwards.....I haven't sewn on this machine alot, but, I have been sewing for for forty years so I guess I just forgot which way to put the spool on.....or maybe a senior moment??? Anyway I thought maybe that could be something to check out.....It happen to be my problem.

I would double check with my manual on how to thread and make sure everything is exactly as it says.....Good Luck!

Welcome Sandra from Southern California. I hope you got your machine working all nice. Maybe it was old or too cheap of thread. Or maybe the spool was on the machine wrong. Anyway, by now it hope you are on your way to sewing up a storm.
