New to the Quilting Board

Good Afternoon!
I'm Barb from Alabama and new to this quilting board. I'm a member of the Missouri Star Quilt Co. forum as well. I don't post much, but I do come looking for answers to questions I may have. I am excited to have found this resource today!

I am a retired elementary teacher (going on my 2nd year now) and rediscovering my love for quilting. I don't particularly like large quilts, but I love doing wall hangings, table toppers and baby quilt size things. I am currently working on some old Block of the Months I have from 1997!

I had always machine-pieced and hand quilted, but am learning to machine quilt now. I don't seem to have the patience for hand quilting anymore, plus my eyes just "ain't what they used to be"! I am also experimenting with FMQ, and have enjoyed the little bit I've done there.

Since my creations are for family members, they aren't too critical of my lack of skills!

I look forward to reading posts on this board and learning more as time goes on!

Well, Barb from Alabama, welcome from upstate New York! I hope you'll enjoy this forum and your retirement! Quilting can be very forgiving, all depending on the design you pick, for those who are enjoying their golden years!

Welcome from Southern California. FMQ is just like learning to play a musical instrument, the more you practice, the better you will be at it.

Howdy from Texas! I retired (for the second time from the same company) at the end of January & I'm loving every minute of it. This is a great board with many, many knowledgeable quilters who are ready to help you in any way. We love pictures & questions. Seems like I always benefit from someone else's question. Welcome!

Welcome from Missouri!! And welcome to retirement!!! So many of us wondered how we ever had time to work - there is so much to keep us busy with our quilting! This board is a wonderful place to exchange ideas. Show off our accomplishments. And make friends.
