Hello everyone!
I'm a newbie and just wanted to say hello and ask if anyone out there has tried landscape quilting and has any tips for me. I just completed my first.

Welcome,

I made a small one a long time ago. It was a mini workshop at our guild. It was fun using some of those fabrics with water or obvious landscape type stuff on them. I might have to try that again. Be sure and post a picture.

Welcome to the board :D:D:D
Books on painting landscapes can be helpful, the techniques on perspective and color are the same for quilting too

Hi Odella. Welcome to the board from Eastern Washington.
Do you have pictures of your landscape quilt? I've been tempted to try one but haven't yet. Maybe you should give the tips of your learnings of making 1.

I found a pattern in one my older magazines, the pattern was simple, the only thing that I wrestled with was what form I would use to quilt, so you'll see different types of quilting in the wall hanging. I made it for one of my church friends which will turn 91 this month, and then had to make another, because my husband wants me to enter it into a quilt show.

I've done only one landscape wallhanging, but was it fun!! It was done in a class at Martha Pullen's sewing school in Huntsville, Alabama. When I got back, I did some fabric shopping for my "next" landscape. Well..........the fabric still sits and waits.
