New to quilting

Hi,

I am Amy and I live in TN. I have never sewn much. It's not that I don't know how; it's that I just don't seem to get it right. My daughter is expecting our first grandchild in July so I would like to make her something. I tend to see beautiful projects in my mind but getting them out of my hands is a whole different story!! I need all the pointers and tips you guys can give.

Thanks!

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. My quilts aways look better in my head than I can produce. It's okay because it is the creative process I enjoy. My advice is measure and cut accurately with your rotary cutter and ruler. Sew accurately with your 1/4inch seams and measure your units and to make sure they are correct before assembling your top. A good resource is the tutorials done by Jenny Doan from the Missouri Star Quilt Co.

Welcome Amy and congrats on the new baby coming your way. Yes, take your time to cut properly and sew slowly so your seams are consistent.
