Hi Kathy .... quiting will be easy peasy compared to sewing a wedding dress! Good luck and I look forward to seeing your first project. I promise you will LOVE quilting!

Welcome, Kathy. It sounds like you won't have any problem quilting with all the sewing experience you have. Let me warn you, though, once you start quilting you won't want to do anything else!!! :D :D :D

Hello Kathy,
I live in Ashland, Ohio so we are pretty close. You will love quilting. I love to quilt as much as I have time to. Judy in Ohio |
Welcome and I'm glad it's quilting time for you!
As for your three dogs-- I love dogs too. Had three; a red Doberman (Penny), black and tan Doberman (Mahana) and one we believe to be a "Rotterman" (Stormy) (rottweiller and doberman mix.) Of the three, we have just Stormy left and adopted another "red" last year. They are our treasures! We have a topic on here to post photos of our furry (or reptile) friends. Please post photos of yours, http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/1020.page and pictures of your quilts! |

Hello everyone,
Thanks again for the encouragement. Right now, I've put aside my grandson's quilt (one of the Around Town series) to help take care of my mother-in-law, the quilter. She has had a recurrance of cancer and it has spread beyond the point that further treatment is not recommended. She is a wonderful person and caring for her is a privilege. I am making graft paper blocks for a quilt that I hope to make and display next July at our local Walk for Life rally. My family has been involved in this for the last three years. I wil put Gram's picture in the middle and use the purple and pinks that are the signature colors of Walk for Life. Since several have inquired about my dogs, I will try to post a picture of my four and my daughter's 2. Jack's are a riot, but unless you can exercise them properly everyday, they can be destructive in their efforts to entertain themselves. They are loyal little beasts and take their jobs seriously. My husband uses them to hunt woodchucks and keep mice and rats out of the barn. Thanks again everyone. [/img] Jack, Sophie, Barney, Oreo, Dixie and Rex |
They are adorable! How did you get them to all pose like that? We can't seem to get a decent photo of multiple "babies" without at least one looking the wrong way or walking off!

A good "sit - stay" command and treats used as bribes. They are good dogs.

What a HANDSOME crew. Do they get along? Love how you got them to pose.
Sorry about your MIL, But your attitude is wonderfull, and your caring is special. |
I'm sorry to hear about your mil. She's lucky to have you in her life. Sometimes quilting can be a good stress reliever and a way to "get away" for just a bit. Take care.
