Hi, I'm Lil from Spokane, and I need a quick idea or two. I have been talked into quilting a top that has 11 inch muslin squares, filled with fabric painted sports "things" from a young boys club. The squares have sashing (2") inbetween. I am stuck!! I don't want to quilt over the designs the young boys have worked so hard on. Any ideas? I am using warm and natural cotton batting. Can I just stitch in the ditch around the blocks, or will that be too much space in the 11" block? HELP I'M DESPERATE. It will be auctioned off on Super Bowl Sunday. Not much time!!

My Warm and Natural says "up to 10 inches unquilted". You might chance it with 11 or you might see if you can echo around the sports designs. If there is enough space in the corners of the blocks, you might be able to do a corner design that goes with the block.

I hope you find a plan!:)

Echoing around the designs in the middle is a great idea.

And Hi and Welcome from the other side of the state!

will the quilt actually be washed or will it be used a hanging? a hanging needs less quilting than a bed or lap quilt. a hanging can get away with a good shaking and vacuuming every few months.

HI from Ritzville. Do you have a picture of this quilt for us to see?. Might get better advice if we can see it. :-D

Welcome to the board from Southern California!
I like the idea if you can echo quilt around the drawn designs. Or something small into the corners.
