New from Sunny California!
Hello, my name is Annie and I am from Redding, California. The second sunniest city in the U.S. supposedly. I am a new quilter with just 6 quilt tops under my belt and only only quilted. I am self-taught up to this point and in the process of learning to free motion quilt. (Okay, I am actually in the process of learning patience. Free motion makes me want to throw my sewing machine out the window.)
It may be one the more difficult things I have tried. I sew from a 5th wheel that I live in with my fiance, or on a picnic table, under a tree that sits quaintly in front of my home. I am in the process of learning how live. I joined here because I have learned so much already, this site has become one of my many go-to resources. I hope to meet lots of people on here that can help me with my questions and perhaps one day I will be able to contribute to those who need it. Until then... |
Hi Annie! Welcome to the quilting board. You certainly picked the right place. Sounds like you have the best place to sew. On a picnic table outside sounds heavenly! Please figure out how to post pictures (you can always ask). We would love to see your little treasures. Happy quilting from Spring, Tx.

Hi Annie! Welcome from So. California! Redding is one of my favorite cities, we always stop there on our coming and going to Washington state. It is a great city. Can't comment on your FMQ since I have had the same feelings as yours.

Hi Annie, from Marin County California. Your picnic table sounds lovely. I've taken over the big pine dining room table (we have 5 grown children so had a big table), and my "stash" has taken over the linen closet. I am in the middle of two quilt tops, one through a class in Walnut Creek and the other through an "online" university called Quilt University. I am enjoying both, while working, etc. Redding is lovely. My husband and I recently discovered the Black Bear Diner while on a road trip through Redding. Happy Quilting. Debbie
