New from sunny South Carolina
Hi All! I am new to sewing/quilting. Was googling and found you all:). I have made a total of 1 quilt so far, a rag quilt. I have been practicing/playing for a few months. There is a lot to learn, thats for sure, you don't just grab a pair of scissors and start cutting squares of fabric, lol. Right now I am working on seams and cutting. I learn something new every few minutes it seems. Anyway I hope to make friends and learn and share with ya all.

Welcome from Southern California! Luckily there is YouTube with a lot of great how-to videos. If you haven't checked out the Quilt In A Day website, Eleanor Burns also has great instructional videos. This is a great place to learn also. Can't tell you how often someone gives great advice, posts a wonderful tutorial, or lets us know about a fantastic sale going on some place. :-)

Seams and cutting - I've been doing this for about 8 years now and I am still working on those two subjects. But I'm a heck of a lot better than I was 8 years ago... |

Pennie welcome from Manitoba prairies in Canada. Rag quilt for a 1st is good, but my 2 bits
won't be making to many of those, all that snipping can get kinds in your hands.. I've made 1-2=3 baby rag, they are heavy, comfortable and warm but oh dear, so much cutting edges. Lots to learn, and just when you think getting ahead of the game, stores come up with a new technique, new tool, and your learning all over again.. That's is the fun.. |
