Hello everyone, my name is Ruth Hawker, born and raised in Indiana but now live in Edmon, OK. Have been quilting for about 8 years but still working on getting the hand quilting down. Love quilting even tho I'm not perfect but trying. Wish I had a quilting room--have my sewing machine (old Kenmore(Sears)) in our master bedroom and that is where I do all the cutting and ironing.

Welcome from Illinois. Lots of folks on the board are turning out great quilts from less than ideal sewing rooms. Quilters always find a way to get it done.

Yes, we do figure out how to get things done. I need to find some place to lay out Grandmother's Flower Garden top that is probably a little bigger than King size. We use to have a group of ladies that meet on Tuesday evenings and as a group project we each made a quilt and we got carried away.

Hey there and welcome from North Carolina. I've been quilting since the early 1980's. Had to put it on hold when my kids were small, mainly because I was spending most of my time making their clothes. But now they are grown and I'm back to quilting full force.

Hello and welcome from Boston. I also have an old sewing machine, a Singer Stylus 457 that my husband gave me in 1967 I think it was. Still serves me well. Love it. Another machine I have had for ages ( about 1958) . It is a rebuilt Singer but I cannot wind the bobbin. It is shaped like a bullit. Does anyone remember those? One day I will have it checked out at a professional shop.
