 Hello, I am a novice at quilting. My husband just bought me a Brother SE 400. Which extras should I have him get for me?
And where is a good outlet for bulk thread?

Wow! thank you to all who replied. I intend to quilt, a lot. I could really use any advice I can get. I have heard about the walking foot. But did not see one on the Brother site for my specific machine. Any advice?

Hello and welcome from beautiful SW Colorado. I don't know about Brother sewing machines, but have 6 brothers (siblings).

Hi Amy, welcome from Southern California! I have a Brother PC420 Project Runway, and for quilting, I don't know if your machine comes with it, but you should have a 1/4"foot for accurate pieceing, and a walking foot for machine quilting and attaching binding.

You will want lots of stabilizer my Brother is not fussy with thread so anything in the right color works fine. Also bet some iron on stabelizer for all those t shirts laying around that you will just have to put a design on.. When I got my machine there was nothing safe in the house!!
