Hi and welcome from the sunny state of Florida!!
It seems to me that you're trying to line your blocks up so that they meet even end to end and not where your seams are. Clear as mud right? Especially on the pinwheels and the last set of blocks. Match your seams up(especially on the last set of blocks) and use a pin if you need to and then sew. Square your blocks up after.
You're doing a good job for just starting.

Thank you for the tip DKA, you are exactually right, i have been lining the corners instead of the seams. I have been sewing blocks all morning and still was having the same outcome.
got me a couple more hours today to spend working on these..
i am going to use the pins as you suggest. will take some pics and post tomorrow.. wish me luck
thanks again..

HI and welcome from Alaska. Don't expect perfect on the first quilt. And don't make it "work'--quilting is to be enjoyed not toiled over. Good luck.

Welcome from Ireland

thanks Franie, i agree.. today i have been working more on my technique instead of enjoying the process as i did at first.
i am now at the end of my day of "me time" .. going to relax and think of all i have learned today, and tomorrow start with just enjoying the process and have fun with sewing.
I do not by no means expect perfection in the beginning. all my mistakes are learning experiences. i save each one to review for the next day. me and my family has been proud of what i have learned so far. i show all my "opps" to them and explain what i am doing. this is the first time i have ever even used a sewing machine in my life. really enjoying all i learn everyday.
thanks for the support and advice..
Yvette

Hello and Welcome to the board :D:D:D

I love what you have been doing so far! Each set will come easier for you
Are you using a 1/4" foot for your piecing? Your cutting will become more accurate as you practice too :D:D:D
