I am looking for some help, I have had my 13" BHQ since November but have recently started having trouble. I don't know what it is but when I just get started quilting the needle arm will seem to get stuck in the down position and the needle will be in the bobbin area --- so I will stop the machine and raise the needle arm up using the hand wheel --- then when I try to get it going again, the same thing will happen. I have quilted 4 pieces since owning my machine but now I am getting very frustrated, as this has only just started happening. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you all own Bailey quilting machines?

HELLO FROM OREGON. You may need to clean out the bobbin area. Often a tiny bit of dust will be the problem. Also try changing the needle. Or perhaps you already have. If after careful attention to the service part you see no improvement, call the dealer where you purchased. Good Luck.

When you clean the bobbin, does it need oil on the hook? I oil my HQ at minimum every other bobbin, more if it is fuzzy thread.

I've had that happen. Like the other ladies have said, there was a bit of fluff pushed down inside the bobbin area. I used the can of air for my computer on it and it popped the fluff up where I could tweezer it out.

thanks for all of the advice --- today I watched Debbie's videos on 'youtube' and like all of you, she implied that the bobbin area needs a good cleaning / oiling. So as that is what I'm going to try. Having ordered the machine directly from Bailey's Sewing Center in New York and living in Wisconsin i am truly hopeful that the cleaning will take care of the problem.
