Newbie

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this board as of this evening. Truthfully, I have no idea how I found you. LOL! I heard the term "Jelly Roll" (in conjunction with fabrics) for the very first time today and had to see what THAT was all about. I googled "what does jelly rolls mean in quilting" and it lead me to ebay reviews which lead me to youtube which lead me to the Missouri Quilting Company which introduced me to the Amazing Jelly Roll Quilt Pattern by 3 Dudes Quilting and so on and so on. I was so inspired by how EASY they make it look, I just have to give it a try.

I have tons and tons of fabric that has been closeted untouched since I injured my back and haven't been able to stand (bend over) long enough to cut material. I think I'm ready to give it another shot. I love looking at all the finished projects you have shared and hope to be able to add my own some day.

Welcome! You are in good fabric hoarding company & if you're back is not up to cutting, just pick up one of those jelly rolls & you can skip most of the cutting... :)

Howdy and welcome, from Texas. Try raising your cutting table, so that there's less bending over. :)

Lois,

I also have issues with leaning over to cut. It makes my back hurt. So I got a pub table and cut on that. It is 42" heigh and I don't bend at all. DH and I decided on the height to measuring from my bent elbow to the floor.

I bought a set of those "bed lifts" from Bed Bath and Beyond. I'm just waiting for my son to come by and put them under the legs of the table in my sewing room. We'll see if they make it too high. I sure hope not.
