Hi. all, I am a new member, age 71, sewed since age 9. made my first quilt in 1955. Have 5 children, 9 grandchildren and a host of greats. I'm a country girl that has been truly blessed.
I am looking forward to participating in this quilt forum. This is my first attempt at joining a blog, so when I chip in, please keep that in mind. I have a lot of experience in sewing, so if I can help, just let me know. I am also a Genealogist by choice, born in OK but reside in AR. Julia |
Hi Julia,
Welcome to the board. You will love it. As someone who just started quilting (if you can even call it that!) everyone here is very helpful! |
Thanks for the Welcome. Hope I will learn something new and be able to help someone else along the way.

Gosh, Thank each and every one of you for the great welcome.
I am hoping that this group will fulfill the void of losing a quilting group that I belonged to in Florida. To explain: We had a home in Florida for the winter and one here in Fort Smith, AR. for the summer. My husband had a heart attack, with loss of a lot of memory before they could bring him back. So the home in Florida was sold and we moved back to AR, so the kids would be able to help me with him. Finally one of the daughters moved back home from Al to help me take care of him. Actually she is disabled with RA, so she too needs care, but is also a lot of help and company to me. I taught her to sew as a child and now am teaching her to quilt. At the present, I am now begining to have some medical problems, some call it old age, but I'm a fighter so will not give in or up. Got too many quilts to make and other things to do on the bucket list. Thanks again, more later. Judy (Julia) |
