Newbie from Wyoming
I'm new at this but anxious to connect with fellow quilters. I have been quilting for about 8 years now and love it! My ultimate goal is a king size Lone Star Quilt! I have the strips cut but nervous to start sewing!

Welcome from the beautiful mountains of western NC. Of course, Wyoming is beautiful also. You will thoroughly enjoy this site.
|
Welcome from NW Iowa. You will love this site of wonderful quilters. Everyone is very helpful and I feel they really care about each other. It was a very wonderful find when I was in a lot of pain from a fractured vertebrae in the lumbar and couldn't do much sewing or anything.

Just jump right in and start sewing. "Finished is better than perfect." If you have questions there are a lot of people here that will be willing to help you. Welcome and waving from your neighbor to the south, Colorado

Welcome from NJ. Lone Star is a beautiful quilt. After you get your strip sets sewn, don't get frustrated when cutting the diamond shape. It frequently gets distorted and you'll need to do some 'straightening' cuts along the way. Use LOTS of starch. Jump in and do it.

Welcome! You'll find so many wonderful things on this site. Just a great bunch of people. Good luck on the Lone Star. I have wanted to make one as well and haven't had the nerves yet to try. Working on getting my courage up for it though. :)

Welcome from Southern California. I made a half a dozen Lone Star quilts. Just have to be so careful with the bias edges. I made an actual size cut out template of the final finished diamond shape and use that when pressing the rows of the diamond so I could see any small mistakes that I had made and be able to correct the error. It worked very well for me.

Welcome from Oklahoma. I know how it feels to sit there staring at the fabric, almost afraid to move. I have had to make myself keep going. Just tell yourself you will do one section. Then when you have that down, it may be a bit easier to keep going.
