Hi, my name is June. I am in Missouri.
I have been piecing quilts for 24 years. I would like a long arm quilting machine for Christmas this year. A project I have started recently is making 6 1/2 in 9 patch blocks for quilts to send to my neice and several soldiers in her platoon in Iraq. I will make pillow cases also. It is slow going right now, but I hope to have enough to send 20 for Christmas this year. Piecing quilt tops helps keep my mind off some bad things that have happened in my life in the past few years. A so died of Lung Cancer 2004, a daughter commited suicide in 2007, a sister has Breast Cancer now and a brother has Lung cancer now. I am in remission from stage 3b Lung Cancer at this time. Looking forward to corresponding with a lot of you gals and guys. Thanks June |
Hi June,
I'm sorry to hear of the rough things you've been through and I wish you continued remission. I too have found solice in quilting. There is something about the fabric, the thread and sewing it together into a beautiful creation that is a balm for the aching heart. We all welcome you and we hope that you will find a similiar joy here at our corner of the Internet as you do in quilting. As for longarming we have many beginners here as well as long timers. :) Make yourself comfortable, we're glad you're here. |
Welcome from VA. Sorry for your losses, my sister has lymphoma, and a lot of my family has succumbed to cancer.
Just hang in there and keep quilting! Sondra |
Hi June, welcome from Southern California. I am sorry to hear of your troubles and losses. As a spouse of a retired naval aviator and mother of an Army Sargent on her way to Iraq, and a also a mother to a Navy Rescue Swimmer-in training, I appreciate it when people like you think of and make or send things for our men and women in the service. Thank you!
