Newcomer Here, have a Phoenix 429 ZigZag machine...
Hi All,
Thanks for all the wonderful information that is already on your group. I just acquired a very solid old German sewing machine, a Phoenix 429. The handwriting on the paperwork says it was purchased in January 1955. It has the manual but... it is in German. I would really like to see an English manual, particularly the portions pertaining to tension, threading, and bobbins. Or just learn from any of you who have this machine, regarding its unusual-to-me threading and bobbin. I hope someone here has the same machine :-) Thank you so much in advance, -Cecilia. |
Welcome from the Adirondack Mtns of northern NY state. I think you will enjoy it here. Unfortunately, I can't help you with the manual but you could try a Google search. It is amazing all the information that is out there.

Cecilia,
Welcome to the board. I see you found someone that has the sister machine to yours. Hope you find everything you can about your machine. Found a place online where you can get a manual, but they want a credit card even though they're offering a free manual. Can't trust that in my opinion. Good luck and again we're glad you're finally here. :-) |
Thanks, everyone :-)
Thanks for all the welcomes! I did post in the Antique/Vintage Machine area, and have received some very helpful pointers.
Everyone's kindness is much appreciated! -Cecilia. |
