Nice to meet you

Yesterday was my 53rd birthday... I lost my muse at 50, so decided it was time to reach out and stop trying to do this alone. I work as a CNA, which is rewarding to say the least but it does get lonely at times when you sit by the bedside of someone who can no longer talk with you. (Not complaining, mind you. I wouldn’t trade my job for any other line of work!❤️) And having moved to a much larger town 5 years ago has kept me very much to myself.

From Southwest Washington, I welcome you. My work background has been similar to your's. I came from the east coast to Seattle where I met and married for the second time. Upon retirement, we moved here to the boonies and were embraced wholeheartedly. No matter where you are, I have found that if you involve yourself in activitires that help others, you will never be alone. I am a bit too old and creaky to still be lifting and turning patients, so joined groups that do for others. At 53, you are still young. Best wishes on enjoying and using up those remaining years.

Welcome to the Quilting Board. It's a great place to meet people and learn about quilting (and other things). Check out the swaps, they are fun. Enjoy. :D

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Maybe you need a take along project for the long hours. How about working on some Redwork quilt blocks or hand stitching hexagons?

Many people like to keep their hands busy by crochet, embroidery, knitting, etc. Maybe one of those would help you during your time sitting. You will learn many things on this board from some outstanding quilters. Welcome from the beautiful mountains of western NC.

Welcome from South Louisiana. If you like handwork, I would imagine you can get some lovely blocks in while you sit with your clients.
