Okay, so I didn't do everything I was supposed to do. I joined the board in January and didn't realize I was to "introduce".
I have been quilting for more than 20 years. Like so many others fabric is an addiction, even though I know it is 100% cotton they don't all feel the same. I can embarrass my 3 daughters just by feeling the fabrics as we walk through a department store!! Isn't that what parents are supposed to do?
I love to do hand work, but now I need bifocals and good lighting to do it better. I have a lot of tops I have made and just want to move on to the next project. Reproduction fabrics are my favorite and my husband just enables me to buy more. He is very good at putting fabrics together, I'm so lucky!! So that's my story from west central Illinois.

Hi from Rhode Island. I am about 20 minutes from URI. In my previous post, I mentioned Folk Art Quilts in Wakefield, not far from the campus. They have a large selection of Civil War fabrics, and other beautiful fabrics.
If you go, you must go, tell them that Ellie sent you.

Where abouts in Wakefield is that?
I know that "downtown" Wakefield has changed alot!
My favorite place to shop at one time was Kenyon's.
Oh, and speaking of Kenyons....OMG! Johnny Cakes! LOVE THEM!!
When the submarine, USS Rhode Island was finally commissioned and put into service in Georgia, they were having a shindig and making Johnny Cakes. I had to go down and SHOW them how they were made. They made them the size of pancakes. UGH!!! lol

That is exactly where it is, in the Kenyon's store. They went out of business about 5 years ago. It is a great shop.
