New to this board, just today! I've been quilting for at least 15 years, although I have to say, I probably haven't been as productive as I could have given the amount of stash that I have! I am just starting to try some applique, hand, machine and fusible. I've more or less avoided it until now. I am definitely NOT a paper-piecer although I have to figure it out so that I can make the two patterns I MUST do. Maybe by then, I will like it. I am definitely geared more towards traditional patterns with Drunkard's Path being my favorite. Hope to meet up with some of you on here.
BTW, my Avatar is the Tree Top Vikings Quilt (Vikings fabric in the sashing). It is for my BIL and includes deer fabric for the border because he is a hunter. |
Welcome on board from a transplanted MN girl that has been in Alaska the past 25 years. You will love this site. Lots of great people with tons of helpful tips, ideas, exchanges and recipes! Just to name a few. Love the Vikings quilt!

Hello & Welcome From Washington.... :P

Welcome from Illinois! I am also originally from Minnesota - hence my name! Where in Minnesota are you - north, south?
|
IAmCatOwned: Welcome to the site. Glad to have you join us. What area of Minnesota...all our relatives live in Northern Minnesota .
|
Hi from 4 miles across the MN border into Iowa, looking forward to stories about your owners helping you quilt, I have 3 dogs.
|
Hi there from Rogers, Minnesota. I'm new to both quilting AND this forum. I'll write more in my own introduction, but wanted to say hi to you.
|
Genafan: Welcome from the PACIFIC NORTHWEST. Don't know where Rogers is but all my relatives live in Northern Minnesota...are you anywhere close to the North West borders?
|
Rogers is just northwest of the Twin Cities, so we are quite aways away from the NW corner. I don't know why, but I sort of surprized how many quilters there are on the forum from Minnesota...That's great.
I just got back from the fabric store getting the material for my first twin size quilt...I'll be ready to start that by next weekend. This whole quilting thing could become dangerous! |

Welcome to another Minnesota quilter! So far, Rogers, Owatonna, Blaine and now Maple Grove has signed in to say Hi to you! I feel like we could almost have our own retreat some time - along with "just over the border" Iowa and "just over the river" WI! Welcome, you will love it here, where in MN are you?
