I admire you for leaning a new craft. I hope you are around to make many more quilts. I like the Kai cut rotary cutters as the do not engage until you press on them and they automatically spring back to a safe position when you stop cutting. I have not had to change blades as well. Welcome to quilting...you will find it addictive.

Hi, Welcome from NY. We 80 year olds have a lot more quilting to do. Keep on sewing. And change your rotary blades often. Do not use the same one to cut anything other than fabric. It is like you keep your scisors separate. Anne

Rotary cutters 45mm or 60mm or good sizes to have. I also like the Olfa brand also.
