Welcome from another retired RN. My parents were from IL and I still have an Uncle who just moved from Kewanee. My grandfather was an MD and worked at the old state hospital there. I remember playing on the beautiful grounds. Also have a daughter, SIL and 2 grandchildren living in Braceville. Will be going up that way in 2 weeks.

I would love to meet you. I am 79 and we older nurses had instilled in us, the confidence that no matter what happened, God and we would be able to help somehow. I got my RN in 1953 and went back for my BSN 30 years later. I studied with bright, attractive kindly youngsters who had more energy than I had, but had not yet developed the God-given confidence. I agree with you. My #2 daughter is also an RN and here time in school was so different. She was not exposed to a lot of areas that I was. She is now an Administer of clinical trials at the Children's Hospital here. I just turned 70 but have not worked in 30 years. Graduated from nursing school in '62.

Nurses are like mothers. You can't quit. There is always somebody needing something. Here in the retirement village I have another new ministry. Shaky people have eye surgery and can't put their expensive eye drops in. HERE I AM. It doesn't take much to be a hero here. Carolyn
