Hello! My name is Marcia and I used to be a member from way back! Lol. In 2012 my husband and I lost our home and everything in it to a lightning strike fire on our mountain. In total, 14 homes and 20 outbuildings. That fire also destroyed my passion for quilting. Although our insurance replaced everything we lost and quilter friends donated fabric and lots of supplies to get me going, it still took almost 8 years for the urge to sew to return. I thank my online quilting group for never giving up on me and my dear cousin who kept sending me fabric and patterns hoping to spark my passion again. Anyway, I'm back! Taking it slow and letting my skillset catch up. Doing a block-a-week from Fat Quarter Shop and I'm having fun! The Quilting Board was always one of my favorite sites and I'm happy to see it's still here. Quilters Rock!

Yes, Welcome back and yes...quilters do rock. I am glad that you had some support through it all and that you didn’t give up completely. It’s like riding a horse ... you’ll be up to speed in no time.

Welcome back. It is very hard to come back from a devastation like that, but it sounds like joy and peace are returning to your inner artist.

In my own story, I was very active in the early on-line quilting community but then just after Y2K I got distracted by my now husband, and by the time I came back the boards I used to haunt were gone. But when I came looking, I found here and it's a pretty nice place to be. Especially this year :)

Glad to meet you.

My passion was also sparked again during COVID, my sewing room ended up thrown into a garage and the bad juju took away my spark about 10 years ago. I started sewing again in May and started with a few on the group here to do a round robin (June to November). That has REALLY helped. Welcome welcome welcome and I hope you feel inspired by all the friendly words here. Hugs from the sunset coast of Michigan!
