Sashing

Hi, I'm new to quilting and I thought I would start with a string quilt. I decided to separate my block with sashing. I have sewn all my string blocks with light weight interfacing on the back, should I use in interfacing on the sashings as well? Thanks in advance for any tips or help.

One of my favourite ways to connect foundation blocks is with narrow sashing. I use 1 inch sashing which ends up 1/2 inch wide when sewn to the blocks. There is no need for interfacing because the seam allowances from the blocks and sashing fill the 1/2 in sashing space. If you are doing wider sashing, then it is up to you.
