I am looking for reviews on the various sewing machine cabinets. Koala seems to be the most expense but are the more economical cabinets equal bang for the buck. I would appreciate your insight and recommendations.

The one I have is no longer produced...But...look for one that has lots of room to the LEFT of your machine and to the BACK of the machine. Mine fits snuggly into the corner of my room. Perfect for when I'm quilting..can toss the quilt all over the work area.
I have one drawer and one DOOR that stores two machins on a slide out shelf. Had it for 19 years and just love it. Drops down for storage but sew every day..no need to make it smaller. Good luck! |
I have Bertha by Arrow. The magnets to close the doors were in the wrong location. Hubby added a larger metal piece and they close so well. The hinge on the left extension is wobbly, but that too is an easy fix.
The lift works well, the quilt table leaf on the back easily slides and raises up & down for use. I love everything about it. Is it made of cheap stuff? I think so, but no one uses it but me. I have a sheet of vinyl that fits over the left extension arm and over the sewing machine plate (I cut out a place for needle & bobbin change). This serves to protect cabinet, help fabric slide and cost about $3.00 vs. the small/tiny Supreme Slider that only helps the fabric slide a bit. I love my Bertha. |

I have a cabinet from Homespun in oak with the drawers on the side. Joann has them online for about $530. I originally wanted mine in white and was willing to pay the $500 price, but when I went to Sears to order it, they offered me one in oak for half price since it was the last one in stock and they wanted to get rid of it. I could not refuse the offer.
It has held up very well for over 5 years. I ordered a custom acrylic inset for my Bernina so it sits flush with the top and I use it all the time. |

Welcome from Minnesota! I have a Horn cabinet that cost me $1000. It has a large area behind the machine and to the left, with a removable piece that fits on the drawer to extend the surface even more. I really like it, since the machine sits level with the table top.

I recently purchased a Horn cabinet too. I just love it. It has so much room. It has a lot of drawers and a fold down table in front and the side table that fits over the drawers. I bought it from my local Bernina dealer, Mel's, in Anaheim. It is almost paid off. I thought I got a very good price on it. I also bought a new chair which is wonderful!! I had an old used chair with a hole in the back. What an improvement.

Hi & Welcome from Las Vegas
I bought this one in July 2010. I love love love it. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-55069-1.htm It is much cheaper going thru Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/Kenssew-K79-Sewi...item5ad58a9a8c than ordering from the site, however if you phone them, they will honor the Ebay price.   |
