Hello everyone,
I am a new member and a new quilter. I live in Houston and hoping to devote more time to quilting when I retire this year. There is such a wealth of information on this site. I already have a question. I finished a quilt and used stitching in the ditch to quilt it. I was told to stitch in the ditch to sew over the seam lines. Now two other quilters said to stitch along side of the seam because you weaken the stitches if you sew directly in the seam. Please tell me which is right. Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome from Ontario. My SID is done on the seamline, not sure if that is right but it is how I do it

Hello and Welcome :D:D:D

I go a couple of threads over from the actual seamline, and the stitches disappear into the folds.

Welcome to the board from Southern California. I like to use a wavy stitch and then I don't have to worry about actually being in the exact spot.

Hi and welcome from the sunny state of Florida! I stitch in the fold, they disappear more as long as I stay straight, teehee!

I have always done it in the seam....that's what I've read online about it.
