Hello, I am a Yankee that thoroughly enjoys the weather here in Texas!! LOL Everyone thinks I am crazy - especially when the temps hit 100 degrees! But, compared to -20 degrees for several days to weeks, this is a breeze!!!
I have only been quilting for a couple of years, but I really enjoy it, both on the machine and also hand quilting. I have sewn for myself and my children for over 30 years, so quilting is a nice change. I like to put them together by the lap quilting method (Georgia Bonesteele) that I learned from a book. That way I do not have to send them out for longarm quilting.
I really have admired all of the different flowers here in Texas too. I like to garden, but I have found that some of the flowers that I am used to growing do not like the heat like I do! LOL

Thank You, I loved to go fishing back home too, lived about 1/2 mile from Witch Lake, caught a lot of sunfish and crappies for out suppers out of there.

Welcome from Duncan, OK. I'm a transplanted Texan and have been right here for 50 years. My daughter lives in SW Iowa and wants me to move there. I spent 5 weeks over Christmas and 35 was about as warm as it got. Most of the time, it was 20 or below for daytime highs. I'm just not ready for all that cold weather. I can stay cool easier than I can stay warm in cold weather. LOL One of these days I'll be moving up there so she can take care of me.
