Thrilled to pieces...
Hi from the beautiful state of Georgia. I have bought an Husqvarna-Viking machine today. Yay, celebrating!:D I'm wondering what year it was made. If anyone can help, I'd sure appreciate it.
The model is 49E, made in Sweden. I am so excited that I was able to purchase this for only $43.oo!! This is an extremely heavy machine... what was I thinking...!?? I am going to restore the cabinet and the machine itself runs quietly! Yay Yay Yay! :D:D:D:D:D:D |

Hello and welcome from Australia. I have a Husqvarna-Viking and it is 41 years old and still sews beautifully. Yes, they are a heavy machine but much better than the plastic ones available these days.

Welcome from Central Florida! I don’t have any information for you on the machine, but there is a section here on QB for vintage machines. If you post your question there, you should get some good answers.

welcome Sandra Dee. but I had to chuckle when I read that your Husky was extremely heavy. Here is mine by a Singer 27.
I have to prepare myself and a place to put it before I pick this puppy up. 27-20 Industrial. Not stitching yet. |

Hahahaha, Now that's one I haven't seen. The Singer is beautiful of course but look at the lettering on the Husky. So classy! Can you send me any more photos and the details of it? Please, please, please?!?! Yours has got to be the oldest I've seen. Do you plan to use it?

They Husky is a 27-20. I can't find a bobbin case/bobbins for it, but if/when I do I'll hook it to some kind of motor just to lay if nothing else. The linkage on the back side is to lower the feed dogs from a pedal below.
This was on the day I found it in a junk shop. |
Welcome, Sandra Dee. I have no info to offer but I think you have come to the right place. Very knowledgeable people here!
