The one thing that took me awhile to get used to was reaching for the foot lift lever and reaching to the back to turn the wheel to move the needle. Sounds crazy, but it works.

Hey, Jan! That's what I use to piece...the Brother 3500. I hate to say it, but the easiest thing for me to do was straight line on that. I ended up getting a frame, and I pretty happy with that.
If you're going to continue FMQ on your brother, I'd say work in small spaces instead of trying to travel a whole lot. That way, you aren't fidgeting with the extra as much. |
