Hi everybody! This is so exciting. I can't wait to hear from you. in the coming days. I am looking for a tumbling block pattern. I have heard that this is a very difficult pattern to do is that true? Even if you know of a title of a book that the pattern would be in I would be grateful.

Thank you
Kandy

Hello, yes that can be a challenging quilt to make if you do it the traditional way, but there is a simpler way to make it using an extra seam. Do a "search" at the top of the board for "tumbling blocks". I'm sure you'll find an easy method there. Welcome to the board!

If you are interested in doing it with hst instead of diamonds let me know, and I can give you information for a great pattern and ruler.

if that is a picture of your quilt, oh yes I would be interested to know how to do this one. Do I need a special ruler? Thanks

Hello from Northern California. Well - the tumblers can be a little tricky but there is a strip method available. Chech on You Tube - I've seen it demonstrated there.

I did mine for DH the old-fashioned way and used the Y-seam. Not too bad once you understand the process.

I could do one with y seams, I just don't want to. I like the easier way. That is what is so great about everything that is available now. I am doing a double wedding ring and that is enough for me. I PM'd you information. It is also a strip method and I love it.

Welcome to the Board from Sequim WA. Glad to have you here and you will love it.

Here's a youtube link to a block called "Not Your Grandmother's Tumbling Block", which shows how to make it the easy way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWpSETMbws4

I haven't done it yet, though it's on my To Do List.
