Wisconsin
Hello, I just join this board and it is the first board that I have joined, so please help me if I make mistakes with postings. I am Mary Ann and from Wisconsin. I absolutely love quilting and thought it would be fun to connect with others. Actually I have been reading these posts for awhile because there are a lot of answers to my questions, so I decided to join in the fun. I recently (last weekend) purchased a long arm, so I am having "fun" and a few frustrations (darn tension) learning the ins and outs of that. I am also a consultant with My Lazy Daisy and am having a ball with that. I can now help people select quilting kits, sewing projects, and fabrics from the designer Dana Brooks. Guess I have turned an interest into a passion!

Thank you, I am still a little intimidated by it. Have done a little practice and now have my daughter's t-shirt quilt on it ready to go. The tension stuff makes me nervous but everyone says it just takes practice and getting a feel for the machine.

Welcome.......Happy quilting :)

Thank you! The long arm is a great machine but a big learning curve. I have a meandering down. Last night I did my first quilt (my daughter's t-shirt quilt that was started in 2006) as a practice run. I was so concern about getting the tension correct that I didn't pay too much attention on how I was loading it. (my first attempt at loading with some practice material wasn't an issue) Well, after I did my first pass and was ready to take up the quilt I discovered that I put it on the rollers backwards so I couldn't take it up easily. I did get it finished and it turned out but sure was a challenge every time I had to take it up on the rollers. Certainly won't make that mistake again. :)
