Wow!! The quilts here are wonderful
My name is Cindy and I am a retired occupational therapist. I have loved, coveted fabric my entire life. I'm generally drawn to batiks, but enjoy reading about the history of reproduction fabrics. I am a total novice to quilting; I've tried simple piecing over the years, but nothing I ever wanted to finish, or was successful with. (No youtube back then).
Looking at the art produced here gives me total joy. I am completely amazed and humbled by the artistry presented. Macybaby, I am awestruck and think of Versace dining patterns when I see your quilt in progress. I hope one day that inspiration will lead to action, and I promise that whatever I do, I will post as a thanks for the wonderful art that I have seen so far. It's very nice to meet you all. |

Welcome Cindy! Yes, this is a great place for inspiration. BUT, take it from experience (I started a quilt 40+ years ago and it is still unfinished - because it was too complicated for a beginner) - start out small and with an easy pattern until you can master the skills needed. You don't have to be perfect, but it needs to be accurately cut and sewn.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I'm still arranging and organizing my new studio. I promise to post pictures because it will probably be the only time everything is so neat and tidy........
I haven't been able to work on it for a week or so - life gets in the way sometimes, but this weekend I should be able to get in a few productive hours. |
